CSIR NET 2020 Application Form Released-Apply Now!
CSIR NET is the most popular exam among the science students who want to make their career in JRF and lectureship. To apply for these, candidates will have to fill the online application form of the exam.
The CSIR NET 2020 Application Form procedure has been started from 16th March 2020. The last date to submit the form has been extended by National Testing Agency (NTA) till 30th June 2020.
In order to fill the CSIR NET 2020 Application Form, you must fulfill the CSIR NET Eligibility Criteria.
Candidates can fill the form for CSIR NET Exam through the official site of NTA. The CSIR NET Application Form process is based on online mode only.
CSIR NET Eligibility-
It is recommended to check and satisfy the basic and compulsory education qualification along with the age criteria. Otherwise, you may lose the chance to appear for the exam. Below, we have provided the general requirement that you need to fulfill.
Here, we have given the complete CSIR NET Eligibility Criteria 2020 in detail. Please scroll down and check whether you are eligible to appear for the exam or not.
Candidates who want to apply for the CSIR NET Exam must have one of the following degrees: -
1) M.Sc.
2) Integrated BS-MS
3) BS-4 year
4) BE/B.Tech.
5) B-Pharma
6) M.B.B.S
In the above-mentioned qualifications, candidates must satisfy the minimum percentage criteria which are given below: -
For General and OBC Candidates - 55% Marks
For ST/SC/PWD Candidates - 50% Marks.
Candidates, who have enrolled in M.Sc Courses or have completed any of the above-mentioned qualification as on the closing date of online submission of CSIR NET Application Form, can apply for the exam.
Other Essential Educational Qualification
Students who are pursuing in M.Sc. their result should be declared within two years of CSIR NET Certificate release date.
Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format of their master’s degree duly certified by the Head of Institute/Dean/Head of Department from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared.
Candidates who have enrolled in the Integrated MS-PhD program or have completed their B.Sc. (Hons) or equivalent degree are also eligible to apply for the exam.
Candidates having a bachelor’s degree are eligible for CSIR fellowship only after getting registered/enrolled for PhD/Integrated PhD program within the validity period of two years.
Specification of degrees (whether bachelor’s or master’s) as notified by UGC in its Gazette Notification No. F. 5-1/2013 (CPP-II) dated 5th July 2014 and as amended from time to time, shall apply.
The eligibility for lectureship/ Assistant Professorship of NET qualified candidates will be subjected to fulfilling of the criteria laid down by UGC. PhD Degree holders who have passed master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991 are eligible to apply for the exam.
Age Limit & Relaxation-
The Age Limit Criteria is different for JRF and Assistant Professor. You can check the complete details along with the age relaxation below: -
For Junior Research Fellowship
Maximum Age – 28 years as on 1st January 2020.
Age Relaxation – Up to 5 Years for SC/ST/OBC/ PwD/Female Applicants & 3 years in case of OBC (non-creamy layer).
For Lectureship-
There is no upper age limit in this case. Candidates from any age group can apply for lectureship.
How to Apply Online?
Step 1- CSIR NET 2020 Registration-
Visit the official website of CSIR NET.
If you have already registered for the CSIR NET exam, then you may log in to the website. But if you are a new user then you will have to register yourself first
New candidates click on ‘’New Registration’’ button. An instruction page will open. Read all the instructions carefully, then click on the checkbox to agree the terms & conditions.
Click on the “Click Here to Proceed” button. After this, a new CSIR NET 2020 Application form page will open.
Enter the personal details like (name, mother’s name, father’s name, DOB, Address etc) as asked in the form and click on “Submit”. Now, you are required to confirm the details. Click on “Yes” and “Final Submit” to complete the registration process.
After completing the registration process, you will get a unique Application Number on your Email ID and Mobile Number. You will have to use these application number to log in to the website so you can complete the application process.
Step 2 - Fill the details in the Application Form-
Now you will have to fill the educational and other details (Subject opted for NET, medium of paper, exam city, specialization, etc) in the CSIR NET Application Form.
Note - The details must be appropriately filled otherwise your application form may get rejected.
After filling the details, you should recheck it and then proceed to the next step.
Now, in the next step, you have to upload your Photograph and Signature.
Step 3 – Upload Photograph & Signature
Click on "Upload Image’ button. The photograph and signature must be in JPG/JPEG format only.
After uploading, click on the preview button. Make sure they appear correctly in the preview, then click on submit button and you will be redirected to the payment portal.
According to the official CSIR NET notification, the photograph should be
More than 10 kb and less than 200kb.
3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (Height) in dimension
Must have your name and date on it and taken on or after 02nd September 2019.
For signature, the dimensions are 3.5 cm in (length) x 1.5 cm in (Height) and size should be more than 4kb and less than 200kb. Use Black pen for the Signature.

Important Note: Many aspirants facing problem to obtain and upload the updated certificates such as Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD etc.), Result Awaited Attestation Form and other documents.
Due to this, NTA has decided to provide relaxation in the mandatory provision of uploading the documents other than signature and photograph of aspirant.
Step 4 - Make Payment
Now, candidates can move to the next step which is fee payment. Click on “Proceed for Payment” to go one step further.
Select the bank by which you want to pay the exam fee and click on the button to final submit the CSIR NET Exam form. After making the payment, take the proof of fee paid.

B. Date of Birth
