We have started this special series of Free Online Quiz for those students/ competitive exam aspirants, who are preparing or want to prepare for UGC/CSIR NET, Food Technology/Agriculture government jobs. There are many students who also wants master degree in the field of Food Technology or Agriculture. There are many opportunities for Food and Agriculture students in government jobs. However, now a days if you want to join any government job you have to go through entrance exam, it may be divided into further categories like pre exam and main exam etc. In most of Food/Agriculture exam microbiology subject is common.
With varieties of opportunities student can choose his/her sector and can prepare accordingly. To ease the preparation of above mentioned exams, we have started this series. As, I mentioned above many exams of Food/Agriculture set question paper by keeping microbiology subject in mind, because in many sectors of Food and Agriculture microbiology is the key subject and many activities are based on microbiology subject.
Lets take an example of FCI, in FCI Food Technologist/Agriculturist can be appointed as Warehouse Manager (Technical) where his/her main work is to keep all grains in safe conditions here microbiology plays vital role. In FSSAI they may get job of analyst which is again microbiological work. CFTRI/DFRL- these are food research institutes where Food/ Agricultural graduate may be appointed as Food Analyst, Lab Officer or they may get chance for JRF/SRF or to become scientist. There is lot of work done on microorganisms in CFTRI and DFRL.
Those who want master degree like M. Tech/M.Sc in Food Technology/Agriculture, have to face either GATE or ICAR entrance exam. There are also many private colleges and deemed universities, provides master degree courses in Food Technology/Agriculture. However, they also conduct their own entrance exam and based on that they gives admissions. The syllabus of GATE, ICAR and Private College/University entrance exam have Microbiology as a main subject. UGC/CSIR and ICAR NET exams are also based on microbiology. Overall Microbiology is an important subject if you are preparing for the Food Technology/Agriculture government jobs.
