Every year on 5th June we celebrated "World Environment Day". It is first time announced by United Nation's General assembly in 1972. However, this campaign was first celebrated on June 05, 1973. Since 1974 United Nation encouraging people and spreading awareness to protect our environment. The "World Environment Day" is celebrated in more than 100 countries worldwide. The motto behind this celebration is to aware people about environment and make them to care our "Earth". It is celebrated every year and its program is based on the annual theme declared by United Nation. In 1987, the member countries of the United Nation decided to change host countries every year and since then, a different countries hosting the event. The "World Environment Day" of 2019 was hosted by China with the theme Beat Air pollution" and In 2018 it was hosted by India with the theme "Beat Plastic Pollution".

This year, Colombia in partnership with Germany will host the theme of world environment day 2020. The theme is "Biodiversity" The basic reason behind this theme is "One Million Plant and Animal Species on Risk Extinction" due to human activities. The "World Environment Day" of 2019 was hosted by China with the theme "Beat Air pollution" and In 2018 it was hosted by India with the theme "Beat Plastic Pollution".
